The British Council in Uzbekistan has announced the National Winners of the Study UK Alumni Awards 2025. The national ceremony took place at the Residence of H.E. British Ambassador to Uzbekistan and was hosted by Ambassador Timothy Smart and Denise Waddingham, Country Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan.

Uzbek alumni of UK universities were recognized for their outstanding achievements as business professionals, entrepreneurs, innovative creators, and community leaders and for their contribution to strengthening ties between the UK and Uzbekistan. The ceremony was organized by the British Embassy in Tashkent and the British Council in Uzbekistan and attended by senior government representatives, education sector specialists, entrepreneurs, and UK program alumni, including former Alumni Award winners and finalists of the program in 2025.

The Study UK Alumni Awards recognize the outstanding achievements of international UK alumni worldwide. Now in its eleventh year, the awards honor leaders who have leveraged their UK education to make significant contributions to their communities, industries, and countries.

The independent judging panel selected recipients for the four award categories: Business and Innovation Award, Culture and Creativity Award, Science and Sustainability Award, and Social Action Award.

H.E. Timothy Smart, British Ambassador to Uzbekistan said: “It is wonderful to celebrate such incredible talent and success today. As His Majesty’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan, one of the most rewarding parts of my role is to support people-to-people links. Today’s winners exemplify how much our two countries and peoples can do when we work in close partnership and friendship. I am sure that their example will inspire the next generation of Uzbek leaders to choose a UK education and make similarly impressive contributions to the growth, stability, and success of Uzbekistan”.

Ms. Denise Waddingham, Country Director to Uzbekistan said: “There’s no shortage of talent in Uzbekistan, and it’s wonderful to see how people have been using their UK education to make an impact in their workplaces and communities. More than 10,000 students in Uzbekistan are studying in UK programs in the country, and the UK remains a top choice as an overseas study destination. At the British Council, we’re proud to support people to achieve their study and work ambitions through our activities”.
