The Independence Monument symbolizes freedom and the unshakable foundations of the state. It depicts the centuries-old history of statehood and images of great scientists and military leaders. The Khumo bird crowns the monument.

Today, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the New Uzbekistan Park and laid a wreath at the Independence Monument.

Representatives of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Presidential Administration, ministries and agencies, and the public of Tashkent also participated in the ceremony and laid flowers at the monument.

The ceremony became part of the program to celebrate the 33rd anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.
