Workshop participants were informed about the benefits of nuclear energy.

The decree of the President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures for development of atomic energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan” of July 19, 2018 became an important step towards the conservation and rational use of natural resources in the country, establishing production of clean energy based on existing opportunities.

The Memorandum of Understanding signed by Uzatom Agency and Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation is a logical continuation of this work. Attention in it is paid to providing public with detailed information on nuclear energy, forming a positive opinion on this issue. Special attention will be paid to holding workshops and training courses for increasing knowledge of mass media representatives about nuclear energy and nuclear technologies, organizing international conferences and exhibitions.

The first workshop, held at Wyndham Hotel in Tashkent, also became part of the execution of the document, the public was informed about the benefits of nuclear energy.

At the event, organized by Uzatom Agency in conjunction with the State Corporation Rosatom, the advisor for education of the Nuclear Society of Russia, a specialist of the project on creating a nuclear information center “The Power of Knowledge” Andrei Akatov, the chief editor of Rosatom Country newspaper Yulia Gileva and others presented detailed information on the role of nuclear energy in the country’s economy, the importance of the mass media in this area, necessary approaches to this issue.
