Filimone Jitoko: Relations between Fiji and Uzbekistan should be dynamically developed

Tashkent hosted the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). Participants recognize that the Assembly has been extensive in both scope and content.

UzA correspondent spoke with Assembly participant Filimone Jitoko, Speaker of the Fijian Parliament:

“Attending the anniversary Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union is a great honor. Uzbekistan has successfully managed the task, organizing the event at a very high standard.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the host country and the Inter-Parliamentary Union for their support.

It is no secret that human rights issues exist globally. Protecting human rights is integral to the activities of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, carried out through democratic processes and parliamentary mechanisms.

In conclusion, I would like to note that despite the significant geographical distance between our countries, it is essential to develop cooperation between Fiji and Uzbekistan dynamically”.
