As part of the visit of the Fergana region delegation to South Korea, the Fergana – Chungcheongnam-do investment and trade representative office was opened in Asan, Chungcheongnam-do.
The agreement to establish the representative office was reached in May when the provincial delegation led by its governor visited Fergana region.
The Hokim of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, expressed gratitude to everyone who contributed to the opening of the representative office. He noted that South Korea is a long-standing partner of Uzbekistan, and in recent years, relations between the countries have become increasingly promising. The volume of mutual trade has doubled in recent years, reaching $7 billion. The Hokim emphasized that strengthening interregional ties contributes to increasing cooperation, and economic relations play a decisive role.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to South Korea, Alisher Abdusalomov, noted that the strategic partnership between the countries continues to strengthen. Opening the investment and trade mission will contribute to expanding economic ties between Fergana and Chungcheongnam-do.
The mission was established at Sun Moon University. An exhibition of products manufactured in Fergana region was organized.
The purpose of opening the mission is to create new opportunities for entrepreneurs in the two regions, favorable conditions for attracting investment, and expanded cooperation and development of exports.
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the investment and trade mission “Fergana- Chungcheongnam-do” and Sun Moon University.
