The Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States hosted an event dedicated to enhancing cooperation in education.

The event was attended by recipients of scholarships from the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation currently studying in the United States, the Foundation’s Deputy Director, Jahongir Akhmedov, and representatives of prestigious U.S. universities.

Participants discussed strengthening academic cooperation, expanding student exchange programs, and deepening scientific and cultural interactions between the two countries.

Following the discussions, several important agreements were reached, set to elevate cooperation in education to a new level. In particular, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Syracuse University and the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation.

As part of the event, a reception ceremony for scholarship recipients of the El-Yurt Umidi Foundation was held, during which participants exchanged views about their educational experiences in the United States, scientific activities, and projects related to Uzbekistan.

During the reception, representatives from the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the Foundation’s leadership emphasized the importance of creating conditions that enable Uzbek youth studying in the United States to achieve outstanding results. The students were also encouraged to mobilize their knowledge to develop their homeland.

Additionally, an evening of Uzbek culture was organized to strengthen cultural ties between Uzbekistan and the United States and to promote Uzbekistan’s national heritage.

Representatives of U.S. universities attending the cultural evening noted that Uzbek culture made a significant impression on them and that such initiatives play an essential role in fostering cultural cooperation between the two nations.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington participated in an exhibition showcasing unique collections of Uzbek national costumes, traditional musical instruments, handmade crafts, and artworks. Visitors had the opportunity to explore exhibits reflecting Uzbekistan’s cultural development, applied arts, and the active role of women in public life.
