Representatives of one of the world’s most renowned and influential television channels, Euronews, which recently opened its office in Tashkent, visited Surkhandarya region. The channel’s film crew prepared an engaging report on the rich tourism potential of this ancient oasis.
The journalists spent three days in the region, capturing unique moments. Deputy Hokim of the region, Jurabek Turayev, provided detailed information to the guests about historical monuments, archaeological, eco-, and gastronomic tourism sites, as well as the ongoing efforts to attract tourists. They also became acquainted with local landmarks, unique national crafts, and the customs and traditions of the region.
Against the backdrop of the majestic Khujakochkarota Mountains in Baysun district, artists from the Baysun folk-ethnographic ensemble presented a concert program celebrating national values and traditions, which undoubtedly added even greater depth to the report. An experienced guide from Surkhandarya, Sergey Avtayev, shared insightful thoughts on the region’s Buddhist monuments, their place in world civilization, and the “Sarmangan” ensemble from Jarkurgan district, which showcases the refined facets of ancient folk art.
Following their visit, foreign journalists noted that the southern region of Uzbekistan had made a strong impression on them.
