The Great Silk Road International Tourism Center, built in Samarkand, is a majestic and fabulous complex.

Construction began six years ago on 212 hectares along the rowing canal in Samarkand region. The center includes hotels, a congress hall, the Eternal City Complex, an amphitheater, and other facilities. Millions of tourists come here every year.

The Eternal City Historical-Ethnographic Park draws special attention. The images of the reception ceremony of the ambassadors of several countries by the ruler of the Sogdian state preserved on the walls of Afrasiab were used here. Another advantage is the ancient bazaar and 40 handicraft workshops typical of all regions of the country. Artisans work in wood carving, pottery, jewelry, and carpet weaving. This demonstrates the unique values of the Uzbek people.

Many high-distinguished guests come to both the center and the park. They get acquainted with the handicrafts and applied art products, reflecting the rich cultural legacy of the Uzbek people.

On April 23, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, took part in cultural events organized in the Eternal City Historical-Ethnographic Park.
