Effective banking supervision: international principles

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosts a seven-day workshop organized by the World Bank and dedicated to the basic principles of effective banking supervision of the Basel Committee.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosts a seven-day workshop organized by the World Bank and dedicated to the basic principles of effective banking supervision of the Basel Committee.

The basic principles of an effective banking supervision of the Basel Committee are an international standard in banking supervision and regulation.

Presentations and examples are demonstrated, international experience in assessment of supervisory system for compliance with the requirements of the Basel Committee is considered during the workshop. Participants are discussing topics on “Preconditions for effective banking supervision”, “Powers, resources and independence of supervisory authority”, “Corporate governance and risk management”, “Credit and other banking risks assessment”, "Prospects for assessing compliance with the requirements of BIS in different countries”, "Organization of self-assessment of BIS in Uzbekistan”, “New law on banking and BIS”, and others.

It is expected that the event will contribute to improvement of activities in the sphere, professional development of employees.
