
Tashkent hosted an event marking the 60th anniversary of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program.
The event, organized by the Embassy of India in Uzbekistan, was attended by ITEC program alumni, representatives of the public, and media professionals.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Uzbekistan, Ms. Smita Pant, emphasized that cooperation between India and Uzbekistan continues to develop actively, particularly in human resource training.
Since Uzbekistan gained independence, more than 2,500 Uzbekistan citizens have undergone training through this program. Last year alone, over 160 participants completed courses, with 40 percent of them being women. They participated in training programs focused on renewable energy, leadership and women’s empowerment, English language teacher training, IT, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and public health management.
