The E-KON Project, implemented by Uzbekneftegaz JSC, was recognized as the best project of the year in the fuel and energy sector by the Global CIO.

This award has become one of Uzbekistan’s achievements in digital transformation and has further strengthened the country’s authority in the international arena.

The E-KON Project is one of the important reforms implemented within the framework of the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy. This initiative is aimed at increasing efficiency through the digitalization of Uzbekneftegaz deposits.

More than 80 gas production plants have been built and put into operation as part of the project. This made it possible to monitor gas production in the fields in real time and take emergency measures if necessary.

The Global CIO International Contest is held annually to identify the world’s most advanced IT projects and present them to the general public. In 2024, 129 projects from more than 30 countries were submitted for the competition. Companies from Uzbekistan, China, Brazil, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Malaysia, Türkiye, and the United States are among the winners.

According to the Global CIO, the Head of the Information Communication Technologies Department of Uzbekneftegaz JSC, Inom Norqulov, also became one of the most active global IT leaders.
