Fozilmon Ota, a sacred worship place, is one of the attractions of the beautiful city of Khanabad, which is turning into a tourist center of Fergana Valley.
Fozilmon Ota is an ancient place of worship in “Fozilmon” mahalla in Andijan’s Khanabad city, in the remote southeastern part of the region bordering Kyrgyzstan. There is a spring with healing properties.
Andijan residents and guests from all over the country visit this place to drink healing water. Spring water gives people strength and energy and helps treat internal organs and skin diseases.
According to legend, one of the prophet’s descendants, a religious figure Sayid Fozilmon Dehlavi (13th century), lived not far from this spring. He called people to righteousness, justice, and enlightenment and gained the status of a saint through his deeds. After his death, he was buried in this area.
At the end of the 16th century, a mudslide descended on the mausoleum of Fozilmon Ota. In 1805, the son of the representative of Uzbek classical literature Khujamnazar Kholmuhammad ugli Khuvaydo Kholmuhammad Eshon ibn Khuvaydo determined the burial place of the saint and organized the restoration of the mausoleum.
In recent years, the mausoleum and the place of worship of Fozilmon Ota have been restored in the national style, and all conditions for a good rest of visitors have been created here. Thousands of pilgrims visit this place every year, especially during the summer months.
