With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Hungary together with the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Uzbekistan, an online training workshop was held on “Hungarian experience in developing tourism and agrarian tourism in the regions”.
The lecture was given by Professor of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences Zoltan Lakner, who shared key approaches and successful practices in tourism development in Hungary. About 40 deputy hokims of regions, districts, and cities participated in the workshop.
In his speech, the professor emphasized the historical closeness of the Uzbekistan and Hungarian people and noted Hungary’s active cooperation with the countries of the Organization of Turkic States.
The presented practices included the use of thermal springs, the development of agrotourism, winemaking, the organization of international festivals, the promotion of regional brands, and the introduction of principles of sustainable tourism development.
Particular attention was paid to the smart tourism project, which is being actively implemented in Hungary, as well as issues of competitiveness and modernization of the tourism sector. The professor also noted the vital role of the film industry in attracting foreign tourists.
Following the event, Professor Zoltan Lakner congratulated the participants on the upcoming New Year, wishing Uzbekistan success in implementing large-scale reforms, particularly tourism initiatives.
