Cyclic-flow technology complex launched at the Muruntau deposit

The Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company has entered a new stage in implementing projects to increase precious metals production and optimize the use of deposits.

As part of the development of the Muruntau deposit, a cyclic-flow technology complex has been put into operation. This has made it possible to significantly reduce the time and cost associated with deepening the open pit and transporting rock mass to both permanent and temporary storage sites.

At present, 25,000 cubic meters of rock mass are transported daily by two crushing and loading stations, a main conveyor line with a length of 1,500 meters, and a waste conveyor line with a length of 900 meters.

“As a result of launching the complex with an automated workflow, the transportation distance of rock mass by heavy-duty dump trucks has been reduced by 1,550 meters”, says Khurshidbek Negov, Chief Mechanic of the Central Mining Department of Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Company. “This has also led to lower diesel fuel consumption and reduced emissions of dust and gases into the environment”.

Within the framework of the Localization Program, the necessary equipment for the complex was manufactured at the Navoi Machine-Building Plant and the Zarafshan Repair and Mechanical Plant. The Zarafshan Construction Department carried out construction and installation works.

The launch of the new technological complex is of great importance for improving mining efficiency at the Muruntau deposit, enhancing working conditions for employees, and reducing its negative environmental impact.
