
On April 21-22, Baku, Azerbaijan, hosted an international conference “Turkic Barometer 2024 – Cooperation in Education and Science in Turkic States: Current Realities and a Vision for the Future”.
The event, organized by the Turkic Academy in cooperation with Azerbaijan’s Social Research Center, brought together leading sociologists, members of parliament, and experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan.

A key item on the agenda was the presentation of the results of a sociological study conducted within the framework of the research project “Turkic Barometer 2024”, which focused on examining the current state and prospects for cooperation in the education system. It was noted that this study holds strategic significance for deepening cooperation among the brotherly countries.

The participants discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening multifaceted ties. Coordinating scientific initiatives and joint research among think tanks in Turkic countries was emphasized as a significant step toward effectively responding to global challenges and enhancing the international standing of Turkic states. During the discussions, several initiatives were proposed to establish new joint scientific, educational, and cultural institutions to intensify cooperation.

Ms. Farogat Fayziyeva, the project coordinator for Uzbekistan, Associate Professor at the Alisher Navoi Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, presented the findings and conclusions of the sociological research conducted in Uzbekistan.
The conference in Baku served as an essential platform for exchanging views and developing approaches for advancing integration processes within the Turkic world. The “Turkic Barometer 2024” project results will serve as a scientific foundation for deepening cooperation in education and science in pursuit of shared progress and prosperity.
