Following the talks held by representatives of the Uzbekistan Embassy in Tbilisi, a Protocol of Understanding was signed with Georgia’s Checkin Travel.
The head of the Georgian company, Iya Gedevanishvili, noted that in 2023, she visited Uzbekistan several times, in every historical region of the country, and each time, she fell more and more in love with its culture, hospitable people, rich gastronomy, and developed infrastructure. She emphasized that she would try to convey her positive emotions and unforgettable impressions to every Georgian, helping to increase the flow of tourists to Uzbekistan.
The signed document provides for cooperation between the parties in tourism promotion, trade and economic cooperation, and cultural and social exchange.
It should be noted that in 2023, Checkin Travel, together with Uzbekistan’s Centrum Air, organized 33 charter flights to Tbilisi and Batumi from the historical cities of Uzbekistan – Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent. In this regard, the agency expressed interest in organizing tourist trips to Uzbekistan for citizens of Georgia and other foreign countries.
An agreement was also reached with the leadership of Checkin Travel to organize training for Uzbekistan tour operators to study the best Georgian experience and develop a comprehensive action plan to implement the provisions of the signed Protocol.
