An Egyptian delegation consisting of representatives of the jewelry industry, namely the leadership of Wassef Jewelry, Kirmena Jewellery, King Gold, and Helwan University visited Bukhara region.

A meeting was held in the regional Hokimiyat. The Hokim of the region Botir Zaripov noted with satisfaction that in recent years, friendship and cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and educational spheres have been actively developing between Uzbekistan and Egypt. He also provided detailed information about the ancient and eternally young Bukhara, the potential of the city.

The Egyptian side expressed its gratitude to the Hokim of Bukhara region for the sincere welcome and hospitality. It was noted that friendship and brotherhood between the two states have deep historical roots. Uzbekistan is well known in this Arab country, especially such cities as Samarkand and Bukhara. The population knows the scientific heritage of the great thinker Ahmad Fergani, the founder of medical science Ibn Sina and other scientists. Separate mahallas have been preserved near Cairo, where ethnic Uzbeks and representatives of other nations from Central Asia live. Millions of Sufis in Egypt wish to visit places of worship in Bukhara and other regions of Uzbekistan.

The official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt was an important step toward the development of bilateral relations. This visit, which is of great practical importance, will have a positive impact on the development of culture, tourism, handicrafts, including the implementation of Egyptian investors’ projects in Bukhara.

According to the agenda of the visit of the delegation to the region, trips to the sights of Bukhara were organized. A meeting with master jewelers was held at the Bukhara Jewelry School.
