The Hokim of Syrdarya region Akmaljon Makhmudaliyev received the Senior Vice President of the Korea Uzbekistan Business Association (KUBA) Kim Chang-Keon.

The agreements reached during the visit of the delegation of Syrdarya region to South Korea in December 2023 were discussed. Views were exchanged on cooperation in mutually beneficial areas, accelerated implementation of agreed investment projects, and attraction of leading Korean companies to Syrdarya region.

As Mr. Kim Chang-Keon noted, the visit of delegations from the two countries, an open, constructive, and active dialogue at a high level, increased the interest of businesspeople from Korea in investing in this region of Uzbekistan. New investment projects have been prepared for the joint construction of a four-star hotel and a kindergarten in Gulistan, the opening of a branch of Sun Moon University specializing in information technology and a center for teaching the Korean language, the establishment of the cultivation and processing of cherries and pomegranates based on Korean experience in Gulistan district, the launch of enterprises for the production of semi-finished products in Yangiyer and electronics in Mirzaabad district. In February, officials and significant investors plan to visit Syrdarya region.

Following the meeting, the Regional Hokim stated that the most favorable conditions for active cooperation would be created.
