Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov met with the Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Kazuhiko Koguchi.

At the meeting, prospects for the development of further cooperation were discussed with an emphasis on giving new dynamics to relations between Uzbekistan and the EBRD.

Special attention was paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached on December 1 this year at the meeting of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso on the sidelines of the World Climate Summit in Dubai.

Mr. Kazuhiko Koguchi noted with satisfaction the successful holding of the 32nd annual meeting of the EBRD Board of Governors in May this year in Samarkand.

An agreement was reached to enhance interaction in several promising areas, including the bank’s active participation in the transformation and privatization of state-owned enterprises and banks, the implementation of projects in green development, clean energy, transport, women and youth entrepreneurship, as well as drinking water supply, digitalization, and others.
