The 2nd Forum on Innovative Cooperation in Education, Science, and Technology was held in Samarkand.

University rectors from Uzbekistan and China, ministers, and regional leaders attended it.

“In recent years, we have been carrying out large-scale reforms aimed at improving the quality of education, integrating science and industry, developing academic mobility, and enhancing international cooperation”, said the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Kongratbay Sharipov, at the forum’s opening ceremony. “The forum is organized to stimulate research activities between Uzbekistan and China, introduce advanced technologies and innovative approaches into the educational system, and provide the younger generation with modern knowledge and skills”.

Speaking at the forum, Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province of the People’s Republic of China, noted that thanks to the Great Silk Road, Uzbekistan and China have historically established friendly ties, and in recent years they have been reaching cooperation agreements in education and science.

At the forum, more than ten cooperation agreements were signed between universities of the two countries.

In particular, a memorandum of cooperation in culture was signed between Samarkand State University and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology.
