Uzbekistan delegation led by the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC Abdugani Sanginov visited China.

A working meeting took place in Guangzhou at the headquarters of China Southern Power Grid International, where the work carried out within the framework of cooperation between the two sides was analyzed, and upcoming tasks were discussed. Special emphasis was placed on investment projects to construct Upper Pskem and Khodjikent HPPs.

It was noted that the documentation on the Upper Pskem HPP project is almost ready and its implementation will begin in March. This will be the first pumped storage power plant in Central Asia. The official ceremony of laying the foundation stone is scheduled for March 10.

The construction of the Khodjikent HPP is also scheduled to begin this year. Both projects are essential for the country’s electricity supply and will help meet people’s needs for environmentally friendly electricity.

A Joint Development Agreement was signed.

Cooperation between Uzbekistan and China in pumped storage power plants
