Relations between Uzbekistan and China have risen to a new stage of large-scale strategic partnership.

One of the leading places in this process is the transport sector.

On the eve of the Global Sustainable Transport Forum, the Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Mahkamov and the Minister of Transport of the People’s Republic of China Li Xiaopeng discussed in Beijing issues that need to be resolved jointly to strengthen mutual cooperation. These include holding an official event to mark the start of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and signing a new agreement on international road transport. The need to increase official quotas to exchange permit forms for national carriers was noted.
