A meeting was held between Nuriddin Ismoilov, Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, and Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia.

Irakli Kobakhidze expressed satisfaction with the steady positive trend in strengthening and expanding relations between the two countries in recent years and developing multifaceted cooperation across various sectors. 

The Prime Minister of Georgia also praised the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years across all industries, highlighting the constructive and open foreign policy of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev aimed at strengthening regional ties.

The parties emphasized enhancing contacts between parliamentarians to expand interparliamentary cooperation. 

It was noted that the participation of Georgian parliamentary representatives in the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, scheduled to take place in Tashkent on April 5-9, 2025, will contribute to strengthening bilateral ties on the international stage. 

At the meeting, the sides also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, transport and communications, textiles, electrical engineering, tourism, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Cooperation between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Georgia expands
