By a Presidential decree of December 16 this year “On measures to improve tourist infrastructure and construct modern service and tourist facilities in the mountain-recreational zones of Surkhandarya region”, tasks were outlined for building the “Sangardak” complex in Sariosiyo district, the “Omonkhona” complex in Baysun district, and the “Obikhayot” complex near the Oqtepa reservoir.

The regional governor also launched, via the Zoom platform, the construction of modern tourist centers in Baysun and Jarkurgan districts. In the Sangardak tourist village, which has captivated the hearts of travelers, the “Sangardak” Tourist Center will be developed over 615 hectares. It will include modern service complexes, retail facilities, and other structures for various purposes. On the area of ​​220.5 hectares of the village of Omonkhona, famous throughout the world for its healing springs, as well as on the territory of 110 hectares along the Oqtepa reservoir, tourist centers equipped with all the amenities for local and foreign tourists will be built. Both centers will have all the necessary amenities for local and international tourists.

On the same day, restoration and construction works also began at the Dalvarzintepa archaeological site in Shurchi district, the first capital of the Kushan Empire. These efforts include fencing the site and creating the necessary conditions for visitors, aiming to preserve the cultural heritage of this ancient city.
