About 1800 farms this year have planted red pepper for the first time on an area of 1500 hectares, in Samarkand region. This product, intended for export, is mainly grown in areas specializing in fruit and vegetable products.
In particular, farms of Jambay district are growing red pepper of local and foreign varieties on 830 hectares.
Other new crops such as soybeans, broccoli are also grown in the district along with red pepper. In particular, “Khalilov Sherzod Shukhratovich” LLC is growing broccoli and cauliflower on 63 hectares. Export-oriented products are grown mainly on the basis of drip irrigation technology.
