A delegation led by Losang Gyaltsen, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China, arrived in Samarkand as part of their visit to Uzbekistan.

At a meeting with Acting Hokim of Samarkand region, A. Boboyev, it was noted that the rapidly developing relations between Uzbekistan and China in recent years are giving a strong impetus to cooperation between the two countries’ regions. The prospects for expanding cooperation in the socio-economic sphere were discussed in detail.

The Chinese delegation also visited the UNWTO Academy in Samarkand, which was established to provide quality education and develop human capital in tourism, as well as several of the city’s landmarks.
