A meeting with a delegation led by Gao Xiang, President of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED).

At a time when relations between Uzbekistan and China have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, this event is considered a significant academic and diplomatic step.

During the meetings, it was noted separately that scientific cooperation is a solid foundation for interstate relations. During this visit, a modern Chinese center promoting Xi Jinping’s works began operating at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy. This multi-vector scientific platform, aimed at studying a particular model of public administration development, the modernization process, and China’s international initiatives, can now be used to organize training sessions, scientific conferences, and expert discussions.

To develop UWED’s digital infrastructure, which is considered one of the leading higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, the guests provided the university staff with 110 sets of advanced computers, servers, and related hardware.

After the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the UWED and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The document provides for joint research in international relations, the study of the global economy and modern China, the development of academic exchange, the preparation of analytical publications, and joint educational programs.
