A memorandum establishing the Chess Association of Turkic-Speaking Countries (TSCCA) was signed in Astana, with representatives from Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan in attendance.

The well-known Azerbaijani chess player Ilaha Kadimova was elected Secretary General of the TSCCA.

The signing ceremony was held with the participation of FIDE President Arkady Dvorkovich and representatives of the chess federations of Turkic-speaking countries.

The headquarters of the Chess Association of Turkic-Speaking Countries will be located in Turkistan, Kazakhstan, which is recognized as the cultural capital of the Turkic world. According to the memorandum, Türkiye will chair the Association until the end of this year, and starting in 2026, Kazakhstan will chair the Association.
