In Uzbekistan, the nationwide movement “Yuksalish”, together with the Institute of Social and Economic Initiatives, with the support of experts, prepared a rating of “Central Asia Women Leaders”.

As noted, the rating is intended to recognize women who have a significant impact on various spheres of life in the region, including politics, business, education, science, art, and public issues. Experts used mathematical and empirical methods to identify candidates’ influence levels.

The experts who took part in the voting included ombudspersons, heads of leading think tanks, parliamentarians, academics, and representatives of civil society institutions and international organizations accredited in Central Asia.

The TOP 40 female leaders of Central Asia include:

Ziroat Mirziyoyeva – First Lady of Uzbekistan, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the International Public Foundation “Zamin”

Aygul Japarova – First Lady of Kyrgyzstan, Chairperson of the Public Foundation “Ene-Balaga Tirek”

Azizmo Asadullayeva – First Lady of Tajikistan

Tanzila Narbayeva – Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan

Dunyagozel Gulmanova – Chairperson of the Mejlis Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan

Saida Mirziyoyeva – Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan

Zukhra Ibragimova – Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of Uzbekistan
