The Central Asian Football Association (CAFA) U-19 Football Championship held in Tashkent.This prestigious football tournament was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).
Matches of international tournament, organized for the first time, took place at the capital's stadiums “Pakhtakor” and “Jar”. It was attended by the teams of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan.
At the tournament our country was represented by two teams.
The team “Uzbekistan-2”, which played in the group A, in the first match played a draw with the team of Kyrgyzstan with the score 2:2 and in the second match won Afghanistan's football players with a score of 2:0.
In group B, the team “Uzbekistan-1” won over the national team of Turkmenistan with the score 3:0, and then beat their peers from Tajikistan with the score 4:1.
The final match was between teams of “Uzbekistan-1” and the national team of Kyrgyzstan. In the first half, the player of the youth national team of Uzbekistan Islambek Kobilov scored a goal off his head after corner-kick - 1:0. In the second half, both teams showed attacking game, but the score did not change.
