This decision was made during the BRICS Media Summit, held regularly since 2015 in Moscow.

Representatives from the Azerbaijan State News Agency (Azertac), Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), Russian News Agency TASS, Turkmenistan State News Agency (TDH), Kazakhstan President’s TV and Radio Complex. 

Participants emphasized the importance of enhancing multilateral cooperation among leading media organizations in the Caspian region. They reached a consensus that the union of the Caspian news agencies should be established to benefit the five neighboring states.

The representatives from the official news agencies of the five Caspian littoral states agreed to hold negotiations on the drafting of the union’s charter, determining the date and venue for the next meeting, and developing frameworks for disseminating information within the union.

The media summit of the BRICS countries is taking place in the capital of the Russian Federation these days. Discussions with the participation of experts and officials focused on current issues, such as the role of the BRICS media community in strengthening the stability of the multipolar world, as well as the technological aspects of information cooperation among the association’s member states.
