A Center for Handicrafts and Sewing has been launched in Bukhara. It produces national clothes and products, costumes with unique embroidery, decor, and prints.

The center is designed for 140 sewists, currently, 35 have been selected. It can produce up to two thousand pieces of floral printed and embroidered clothing per month.

It is outfitted with Chinese equipment worth $1 million. Here, national clothes with embroidery and floral patterns are sewn from cotton and silk fabrics.

Bukhara region’s Hokim Botir Zaripov visited the Center of Handicrafts and Sewing. He was interested in the scale of work, the provision of raw materials, the production and sale of products, and the material benefits that artisans receive. Now this center in Bukhara intends to organize a corner of clothes made in the national style in consulates and embassies of Uzbekistan abroad – to create an opportunity for compatriots to enjoy samples of folk and applied art.
