Thanks to radical reforms in the construction sector of Uzbekistan, new capacities are being put into operation, the production of innovative energy-saving construction materials is being established, which occupy a strong place not only in the domestic but also in the world market.

Head of the Information Service of the Uzqurilishmateriallari Association Jamshid Shermetov spoke about the results of measures to increase the export potential in the sphere:

– Currently, Kazakhstan is the leader in purchasing construction materials produced in our country. The demand for them is increasing every year. Let’s turn to the figures: in 2023, 14 types of construction materials and raw materials worth $158.4 million were exported from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan, then only from January to June 2024 – $87.5 million.

Also, in 2023, 36 construction materials and raw materials worth $77.8 million were imported from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. In January-June 2024, 27 types of building and raw materials worth $30.1 million were imported to our country.

Today, Basfiber Trade LLC in Farish district of Jizzakh region, together with Kazakhstan’s Basaltwool. KZ is implementing a project to produce basalt fiber worth $100 million. To further increase the export of building materials and help entrepreneurs in this area, the Uzqurilishmateriallari Association plans to open trading houses in several countries this year, particularly Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Israel.

It should be noted that about 10,000 enterprises are producing building materials in our country, and in 2024, they plan to produce products worth $38 trillion. Within the framework of investment programs in 2024-2026, 542 new projects worth $4.5 billion are planned to be implemented.
