A briefing was held at the Press Center of the Central Election Commission with the participation of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Abdullayev.

It was noted that today, to take prompt measures to ensure public safety at the local level, the uninterrupted duty of units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and other departments has been established.

In the event of an emergency near a polling station, each employee of the internal affairs bodies, the National Guard, and the serviceman of the Ministry of Emergency Situations involved in the service, without leaving the place he is guarding, is obliged to inform the leadership or the duty unit about it immediately, take measures to eliminate them in the event of interference in the legal activities of members of the precinct commission, observers and media representatives or in the event of a threat to the life and health of citizens who came to vote.

According to the current legislation, responsibility for violating the procedure for holding elections is defined in the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility and the Criminal Code. The courts consider appeals concerning the activities of election commissions.

In accordance with the national electoral legislation, 40,468 people held in places of execution of punishment and imprisonment, as well as prisoners serving sentences for committing serious and especially serious crimes, are participating in the elections.

To ensure their legal rights, 48 ​​polling stations for voting by prisoners held in places of execution of punishment and imprisonment were created in agreement with the Central Election Commission. More than 100 campaign events were held in places of execution of punishment with the participation of candidates and their authorized representatives.

As noted at the briefing, no appeals have been received regarding violations of electoral legislation to the present time.
