More than 82.5 thousand people live in Sokh district, an enclave of Fergana region. In recent years, significant work has been carried out here to accelerate the development of the socio-economic sphere and improve the population’s welfare.

To improve the supply of clean drinking water to mahallas of Sarikanda, Hazrat Ali, Hushyor, Tul, Ravon, Lenburg, Demursad, Kalacha, Gaznov, Oftobru, Sokh, Chashma, Sharkobod, Yangiariq, Kakir, phased work is being carried out to lay new lines with a length of 274 kilometers. In addition, 30 drinking water facilities will be built and reconstructed throughout the district. All this will end the water supply problems in Sokh, which have been troubling the population for many years.

They find practical confirmation and measures related to the improvement of the economic indicators of the district, the provision of services, the development of small businesses, and private entrepreneurship. This year, only through the implementation of 185 projects in the service sector, it is planned to create 730 jobs.

The development of unused agricultural land, the implementation of irrigation and reclamation measures, and the further expansion of animal husbandry, including poultry and fish farming, are also consistently continuing. It should be noted that a unique experimental school for growing potatoes has been created in the region.
