The visit of the President of Uzbekistan to the United States of America to participate in the first Board of Peace summit testifies to the recognition of Uzbekistan’s initiatives aimed at ensuring peace and stability not only in the region but also on a global scale.

This event marks the beginning of a new stage in relations between Uzbekistan and the United States.
Professor at the University of Public Safety and Doctor of Economic Sciences Bobur Valiyev shared his thoughts on this matter with UzA correspondent.
– The participation of our country in the first Board of Peace summit as a founding state is truly a historic event, – says B. Valiyev. – Uzbekistan is becoming one of the countries involved in shaping a new structure being created at the initiative of the United States within the global geopolitical context.
The U.S. gross domestic product, amounting to nearly $30 trillion, accounts for approximately one-quarter of global GDP. The development of a strategic partnership with this country, exemplified by the Board of Peace, opens up opportunities for our nation to influence key events and processes not only at the regional but also at the global level. Trade indicators between Uzbekistan and the United States have reached almost $1 billion, marking a new page in the economic policy of New Uzbekistan.
In our country’s foreign policy, good-neighborly relations hold top priority. The five Central Asian states within the C5+ format actively cooperate with economically powerful countries and regions, including the United States, China, Russia, and the European Union. Previously, the focus was limited to regional security issues and local processes, for example, the situation in Afghanistan. Today, Uzbekistan is actively participating in international efforts to establish peace in the Middle East and the Gaza Strip, as well as in the restoration of destroyed infrastructure and housing. In other words, the country’s international standing is growing and receiving recognition from the global community.
Looking at the global situation, the rise of military conflicts in several “hot spots”, especially in the Middle East, has intensified the need to create a new international structure.
The first Board of Peace summit is aimed at overcoming the consequences of armed conflicts in the Middle East, restoring stable life in the region, reviving destroyed infrastructure and housing, and creating the conditions necessary for a dignified life for people.
The number of member states of the Board has exceeded 20. Uzbekistan is participating in the first summit among these leading countries. Our country has gained a new status that allows it to make decisions of global significance on Middle East issues and influence world politics.
Undoubtedly, such results were not achieved on their own. Since 2017, Uzbekistan has consistently advanced political and economic cooperation within the framework of a pragmatic, multivector foreign policy. Life itself confirms that establishing friendly relations with all countries while ensuring a balanced multilateral approach is the only path to peace, stability, and prosperity.
