Tashkent City Hokimiyat hosted a meeting with a delegation led by Liu Dong, the Director General of a division at China State Construction Engineering Corporation.

The Tashkent City Hokim Shavkat Umurzakov welcomed the guests and announced his readiness for constructive and mutually beneficial cooperation. He noted that the successful development of the partnership between the city administration and the Chinese company results from the political will of the heads of the two states and creates a solid foundation for cooperation.

Following the meeting, agreements were signed in several areas.

One was the project to reconstruct and modernize the city of Tashkent’s road infrastructure. The project, with an investment volume of $300 million, provides for the reconstruction of roads and the corresponding city infrastructure. More than 200 local and foreign specialists, particularly surveyors, engineers, and designers of the transport sector, will be involved in the work.

Thanks to the joint venture project for designing and training personnel, more than 20 jobs will be created. The enterprise will train specialists in road construction and infrastructure development, particularly architects and designers, and improve their skills.

Documents on the design and construction of bridges were signed, in particular, an agreement worth $259 million, which provides for developing mechanisms for financing the design and construction of bridges. The implementation of the project will ensure the creation of 160 new jobs. It is predicted that the construction of bridges will help eliminate problems associated with traffic jams on the roads and improve traffic in the capital.

As part of the project to construct large residential complexes (the cost of the project is about $440 million), modern business and shopping centers, preschools, schools, and residential buildings are planned. This project is at the discussion stage.

During the negotiations, agreements were signed that will strengthen cooperation between the Tashkent city administration, China State Construction Engineering Corporation and Toshkent Invest and create the basis for the successful implementation of the projects under consideration.
