Bavaria to support the development of industrial clusters in Uzbekistan

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany Nabijon Kasimov held virtual talks with the State Secretary of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy, Roland Weigert.
During the talks, the parties exchanged views on the possibilities of developing bilateral cooperation in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, as well as discussed promising areas of cooperation in various spheres.
Currently, 133 Bavarian companies interact with Uzbekistan, of which 17 have their representative offices in the country, 6 branches, 9 equity joint ventures.
Prospects for development of industrial clusters and industrial parks of Uzbekistan with participation of Bavarian companies and financial institutions were discussed. Welcoming the desire of Uzbekistan to develop clusters, Roland Weigert noted that Bavarian companies are ready to share their experience in organizing and managing industrial parks and clusters.
An interest was noted in establishing cooperation with Uzbekistan enterprises producing export-oriented products that are in demand in the world market. An agreement was reached on establishing close cooperation between the relevant organizations of Uzbekistan and Bavaria dealing with export promotion issues.
Prospects for bilateral cooperation in information technologies, in particular the establishment of partnership between specialized education institutions for the organization of trainings and implementation of start-up projects, were discussed.
