Members of the Central Electoral Commission and representatives from the political party and mass media took part in the event.

In accordance with the electoral legislation, the Central Electoral Commission was presented with an application from the leader of the political party requesting the registration of the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Attached to the application are the decision of the VIII congress of the movement of entrepreneurs and businessmen – the Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party for the nomination of the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the congress’s document on the nomination of the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a written statement from the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan agreeing to stand in the elections and lists of signatures in support of the candidate for President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Central Electoral Commission gave the authorised representative of the political party a certificate bearing the date and time of the acceptance of the documents. Within the timeframe established by law, the documents’ conformance to the requirements of the electoral legislation is examined.

At the Central Electoral Commission, expert groups for checking the accuracy of signature lists, including specialists of internal affairs, justice and population registration establishments as well as members of the public, are continuing their work.
