An international conference was held on “Astronomy in Uzbekistan: Past, Present, Future”, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the founding of the Astronomical Institute.

Representatives of scientific organizations of Uzbekistan, scientists and specialists from the Russian Academy of Sciences, and several Chinese research institutes attended the conference.

Sessions were held on “Fundamental astrophysical problems”, and “Technical, constructive, and organizational issues of the Suffa project”. The conference participants were shown a film dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Astronomical Institute.

An excursion to the International Radio Astronomy Observatory on the Suffa plateau and the Sun Solar Complex was also organized.
