The delegation led by the Chairman of the State Committee for Construction of the City of Arkadag under the President of Turkmenistan Deryageldi Orazov, has arrived in Samarkand.

As part of the visit aimed at further developing bilateral cooperation and strengthening friendly ties, the guests visited the mausoleum of the First President of Uzbekistan, Islam Karimov, in the Khazrati Khizr Complex.

Then the guests met with Samarkand region’s Acting Hokim, Adiz Boboyev.

During the dialogue, the parties exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in priority areas and informed about the available opportunities.

“During his visit to Samarkand in April this year, the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, focused on the modern architectural and tourist projects implemented in the city”, said Deryageldi Orazov. “The main purpose of our visit is to study the relevant experience based on the instructions of the head of our state. Getting acquainted with the picturesque nature and unique architecture of the city, we witnessed that, thanks to deep reforms in recent years, the image of Samarkand has radically changed. The city of Arkadag in Turkmenistan, built based on the smart city concept, is also actively developing. I believe that introducing the best practices of ancient Samarkand, which has long been famous as a global socio-economic center, will be beneficial”.

Samarkand region’s Acting Hokim, Adiz Boboyev, spoke about the major projects being implemented in the region, the specifics of urban planning, and the construction industry.

The delegation visited the Eternal City Complex and got acquainted with artisans’ products.
