Ancient and eternally young Bukhara has long attracted tourists with its historical monuments, national crafts, and cultural legacy.
In January-August, 880.2 thousand tourists visited Bukhara. Thanks to the provided services, tourism exports reached $220.1 million. Compared to the previous year, the flow of foreign tourists increased by 116.8 percent (753.2 thousand).
At the same time, 2.8 million local tourists visited Bukhara from the regions of Uzbekistan, an increase of 116.6 percent compared to the same period last year (2.4 million). As part of the “Travel to Uzbekistan!” program, 819.6 thousand compatriots from Bukhara made excursions across the country.
In addition, the Domestic Tourism Fair and Bukhara Destination Forum were held in the region in March this year. They were attended by representatives of the tourism industry of Arab countries such as Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and Algeria, as well as tour operators, guides, and hotel business representatives.
On May 3-5, 2024, Bukhara hosted the Second International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry, which was attended by 157 foreign guests from 42 countries.
In pilgrimage tourism, more than 80 representatives from 27 countries took part in the Halal In Travel – Global Summit 2024, held by the Crescent Rating organization in Singapore on May 30 this year, and the Bukhara region won the summit award.
In January-August this year, over 12,000 jobs were created in tourism and related fields, and 64.9 thousand people were employed.
