A politician from Uzbekistan, blogger, and YouTube channel author Rasul Kusherbayev published a post in which he called the attempt by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov to influence the investigation in the case of the attempted murder of Komil Allamjonov “terrorism”.

On December 26, Ramzan Kadyrov published an appeal in which he called the attempted murder of the former Press Secretary and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Komil Allamjonov, “rumors overblown by pro-Western media”.

“It’s hard to call this an assassination attempt, even by a stretch. The media immediately cited some sources (practice shows that pro-Western media are making up these sources) that stated that I was involved in preparing the assassination attempt”, Kadyrov wrote.

The reaction of the head of the Chechen Republic is explained by the announcement of two Russian citizens of Chechen identity, Bislan Rasayev and Shamil Temirkhanov, on the wanted list by Interpol.

On December 27, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan brought Rasayev and Temirkhanov in absentia as defendants in the case of the attempted murder of Allamjonov. The Uzbekistan authorities accuse them of illegal entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan and travel abroad, failure to report a crime, and illicit trafficking of firearms.

In response to Kadyrov’s words, Rasul Kusherbayev made a direct statement:

“An open threat to officials in Uzbekistan is terrorism. Those who want to do this or who spoke up must also bear responsibility”.

“How long will we silently follow those who openly threaten us with their chauvinistic views? Isn’t it time to respond with dignity to an open threat from an official?” he continued.

The Uzbek politician suggested suspending service to Grozny if necessary and strictly checking everyone entering Uzbekistan from Chechnya.

“Ramzan Kadyrov must apologize to the people of Uzbekistan, and the Russian Prosecutor’s Office must give a legal assessment”, Uzbek MP believes.

Member of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan Odiljon Tojiyev condemned the fact of interference by the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov in the investigation into the assassination attempt on Komil Allamjonov.

“I absolutely condemn the interference of the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov in the internal affairs of Uzbekistan, as well as the threat or pressure on Uzbekistan government officials”, he wrote on his Telegram channel.

The Uzbek parliamentarian believes that the Chechen leader should assist the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan in finding the wanted Bislan Rasayev and Shamil Temirkhanov and hand him over to Uzbekistan.

Odiljon Tojiyev also called on the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia to give a legal assessment of the situation with Ramzan Kadyrov’s threat to Uzbekistan officials.

Let us recall that in the case of attempted murder, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan is prosecuting in absentia two Russian citizens, Bislan Rasayev and Shamil Temirkhanov. They are accused of illegal entry into the Republic of Uzbekistan and exit abroad, failure to report a crime, and illicit trafficking of firearms.

The names of Rasayev and Temirkhanov are on the Interpol wanted list.
