A symposium dedicated to scientific and technological cooperation between China and Uzbekistan was held at Chongqing University, China. Experts from both countries took part in the event.

During the symposium, negotiations were held between the President of Chongqing University, Professor Wang Shuxin and the Vice President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Mirzayev.

It should be noted that within the framework of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to improve the seismic resistance of buildings and structures, as well as improving the activities for monitoring seismic hazard”, this university, together with 14 scientific institutions of the country, is implementing the China – Uzbekistan Scientific and Technological Cooperation project and conducting technical training on “Seismic resistance of cities”.

At a scientific symposium dedicated to the completion of the project, 35 young scientists from 14 institutions in Uzbekistan were awarded certificates. In addition, 15 organizations that applied to participate in the joint laboratory for urban research were awarded commemorative signs.

The symposium was essential in strengthening cooperation between China and Uzbekistan in science, technology, and engineering.
