On November 15, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a meeting on uninterrupted energy supply to the population and economic sectors and improving efficiency at enterprises in the industry.

The corresponding tasks were defined at a meeting held on June 10. Today, responsible officials reported on implementing these tasks and preparations for the autumn/winter season.

It was noted that gas is supplied in volumes commensurate with the growing demand of population and economic sectors. As a result of the modernization of industries and increased energy efficiency of the economy, losses have decreased. For example, gas consumption for industrial production has decreased by 1.6 times in recent years.

There is still a lot of work ahead. It is necessary to ensure a stable energy supply to the population in the current season and subsequent years and prepare a sufficient reserve for this.

At the meeting, these issues were discussed in the context of industries.

According to calculations, 21 billion cubic meters of gas will be supplied to consumers during the winter season this year. If the air temperature drops sharply, the population’s demand will increase even more. The responsible persons outlined the plan of action by month and district in such a situation.

A separate reserve is provided for the uninterrupted power supply of social institutions and enterprises. A system of targeted natural gas supply to thermal power plants, chemical and metallurgical enterprises, and gas filling stations has been created.

It was noted that it is necessary to decisively continue the work begun on gas accounting and control in industries and further reduce losses. The task has been set to implement the identified opportunities for gas savings in Andijan, Navoi and Tashkent regions and other regions.

The Head of state instructed responsible persons on organizing work at the district and mahalla levels, resolving issues related to energy supply directly at places, coordinating demand and consumption, and preventing interruptions.

The transformation process in the gas sector was also considered at the meeting. It was determined that industry enterprises would enter the international financial market and independently attract funds for modernization.

Digitalization and public-private partnerships offer the most significant opportunities for updating and regulating gas supply networks. In this regard, proposals for attracting private operators to the industry were considered.

The President instructed to reduce the cost price in the context of each industry and enterprise, optimize costs, and accelerate the transformation process. The importance of expanding geological exploration work with the involvement of leading foreign companies was emphasized.
