The Nuclear Technology Information Center under the Uzatom Agency hosted the international teleconference “Atoms for Country”, which brought together experts and young participants from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Belarus.
In his welcoming speech, Stanislav Levitsky, Director of Rosatom’s Country Office in Belarus, noted that nuclear technologies are the key to improving the quality of life and creating a more favorable environment for our future. He also added that Rosatom is making a significant contribution to this progress by developing technologies that are already helping to improve the lives of millions of people today.

As Shavkat Abdukamilov, Executive Director of Tashkent branch of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, emphasized, the success of an entire industry, especially such a complex one, depends on the professionalism and involvement of people. To work in the nuclear industry, which is one of the most promising and in demand, we should pay attention to the exact and natural sciences.
“In 2018, a decision was made to build a nuclear power plant, and this decision prompted the creation of a whole strategy for the development of the nuclear potential in the country. Working with the public in the implementation of nuclear energy projects is one of the key areas. Today’s event is an important event in terms of career guidance for young people, where there is an opportunity to learn more about the experience of other countries that have already implemented similar projects, as well as countries that are only at the beginning of their journey. I noticed that students and schoolchildren listened with great interest to the speeches of the speakers, including the topic of how personnel for the nuclear energy industry is being trained in Uzbekistan”, Shavkat Abdukamilov said.

The teleconference was attended by more than 150 students of specialized universities and colleges.
