The Art and Culture Development Foundation and the Agency for Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the inclusion of mosaic panels located on buildings in Tashkent and regions of the country into the register of cultural objects protected by the state.
A previously specially created scientific expert council examined 183 samples of mosaic panels available in the country, which it claimed were cultural heritage objects.

According to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan resolution of March 25, 2024, the National List of Real Estate of Tangible Cultural Heritage includes 157 mosaic compositions recognized as monumental art. Based on the document, measures will be taken to include them in the state cadastre, and any activities related to construction work in the territories where they are located will be carried out after receiving the conclusion of the Cultural Heritage Agency.

The purpose of replenishing the register is to comprehensively study, preserve, and competently use mosaic panels and works of fine art and increase their role in developing the country’s tourism potential.
