Ulaanbaatar hosts the Grand Slam Judo Tournament.

Uzbekistan’s Abdurakhim Nutfullayev became a gold medalist in the weight category up to 66 kilograms. Before the final, he defeated Bilegt Erdenetsogt from the U.S., the host country’s representative Erkhembayar Battogtokh, and Kim Chang Yong from Korea. In the final, Uzbekistan’s wrestler took to the tatami against Denis Vieru from Moldova and defeated his opponent, winning not only a gold medal but also 1,000 world ranking points.

Twenty-nine-year-old Denis Vieru is 11th in the world ranking, and 23-year-old Abdurakhim Nutfullayev is 64th.
