One of the most talented players of the Uzbekistan national team, Abdukodir Khusanov, will become the first Uzbek footballer to play in the English Premier League.
Renowned football insider Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the transfer. Manchester City is ready to pay €50 million for the gifted player, including bonus payments.
French Club Lens has accepted Manchester City’s offer, granting permission for Abdukodir Khusanov to undergo a medical examination scheduled in the coming days. It is expected that Khusanov will sign a contract with Manchester City by the end of January.
The transfer marks an absolute record in the history of Uzbek football. The previous record was held by Eldor Shomurodov, who transferred from Genoa to Roma in the summer of 2021 for €19.6 million.
