It is planned to develop a project for the historical center of Bukhara to carefully preserve objects and structures of cultural heritage, restore and reconstruct ancient, culturally significant objects while preserving their original appearance, and integrate them into the city infrastructure based on architectural, comparative, and social research.
The design work is carried out based on the requirements of the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and the international architectural group Wilmotte & Associes SAS d’Architecture (France).

“A group of 21 people held open dialogues with responsible managers and specialists of organizations in cultural heritage, tourism, construction, cadastre, geology, communications, handicrafts, architecture, roads, railways and airlines, economics, and transport services of Bukhara”, says the head of Cultural Heritage Department of Bukhara region Shohabbos Sharofiddinov. “Specialists of the regional department of cultural heritage provide them with direct assistance in familiarizing and studying all cultural sites, architectural monuments, and ancient houses of Bukhara”.

At the initial stage of the project, an analytical study of general, statistical, and urban information about Bukhara, a technical review of the urban infrastructure, and a comparative analysis of the collected data are planned.
This work will be organized on the initiative of the Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, the Hokimiyat of Bukhara region, and the Cultural Heritage Agency.
